HANK SOBAH attended college as a music major, and attended the Detroit Conservatory of Music before switching to engineering and electronics completing an Engineering degree from Siena Heights University with a 3.85 GPA out of a possible 4.0. He graduated from IBM’s Systems Researcy Institute (an advanced degree program) with a discipline in Software Systems. He retired as a Principal Engineer from Westinghouse Nuclear Power Plants, Supplier Quality Engineering and was an adjunct professor of total quality management at Duquesne University's graduate school of business for 20 years.
Hank has formerly been Director of Quality Assurance at Innovative Systems Inc. in Pittsburgh, Senior Manager of Technology and Services at Ernst & Young, Software Quality Manager at Highmark Blue Cross / Blue Shield, and Quality Engineer and Systems Engineer with IBM Hank is a past director of the Greater Pittsburgh Total Quality Awards, past Chair of the Pittsburgh Section of ASQ, Past Chair of ASQ’s Human Development and Leadership Division, past Vice-Chair of ASQ Software Division. He has authored many articles on Quality Management and on I.T. He currently serves on ASME’s Nuclear Quality NQA-1 Software Quality Standards committee.
Hank was most recently the primary product Quality Engineer on Electrical Commodities and Software Systems for Nuclear Power Plants at Westinghouse in Cranberry, PA. He is the past chair of the ASQ Human Development and Leadership Division, past chair of the ASQ Pittsburgh Section, past Vice Chair the ASQ Software Division, secretary of the Three Rivers Workforce Investment Board. Sobah is an ASQ certified quality engineer and certified quality auditor.
