Since age 6, Hank has been playing music on a variety of instruments playing in school bands throughout his school years in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Starting out on the trumpet, he progressed through large brass instruments including baritone, tuba, and sousaphone before taking up the guitar. On Guitar Hank played with a number of rock and roll bands around the metropolitan Detroit area with many different and excellent musicians.
Starting college as a music major he attended college music classes in Michigan, playing piano. Hank was trained in piano, music theory, and harmony at the Detroit Conservatory of Music.
Hank played local clubs in a number of garage bands, and was one of the founding members of Detroit’s White Mud Blues Band. White mud is wholly another story in itself and you should look them up on the web.
